Oh, how I wish I could give you a hug to stop your shaking and, perhaps I'm wrong, tell you it's OK to be so angry (I know you are).
A dog of similar breed was on my front porch one morning a few years ago. When I came out, she had killed a hen (free range every now and then) and dominated my ancient Lab and baby Pyr. I recognized her as my neighbor's dog and she had a reputation for killing. Called the neighbors; not at home. I needed to keep an appointment so I thought I would catch the dog and tie her or take her home and tie her there. Took some ham and a rope- caught her and she bit me! OK sister. Got out the .410 to shoot in the air or pepper her butt. When I was near her, she raised her hackles and came at me. That ended that. I called the neighbors. Note to self:SSS.
What did the neighbors get to replace her? Another breed that has high prey drive. Plus they raised pups. Now I am the neighbor who shoots dogs. And if you're wondering, there is no animal control for dogs where I live, only for abuse of large animals.
Hugs and peace,
Margie
