In about 2-3 years, I'll be creating a new Breed of chicken called the Emerald Dragon.(Discussion)

What do you think about a new breed?

Those are good prices. $75 seems reasonable.

I might give Craigslist one time, but not this year at least.
Also if you're looking for another place to order chicks from you can look at Privett Hatchery. They're located in New Mexico and I bought my Cream Legbar from them. While they don't have Ayam Cemani (as far as I can tell) they do have black breasted cubalaya, russian orloffs, salmon Favorelles, blue andulusia, black langshan, ancona, black minorca, jersey giant, red shoulder yokohama, spangled hamberg, silver/golden phoenix, indian red jungle fowl, mottled java, penedesenca, silver lakenvelder, heritage rhode island red, Dominique, blue australorp, buckeye, and sicilian buttercup (yes I went to their website and listed as many interesting options as I could lol). They do have a minimum order limit of 25 chicks though (sold off my extra Legbars when I ordered from them).

I'll be getting Indian Red JungleFowl from Welp Hatchery next spring if I can manage it, if things go as planned.

They do have a good assortment of birds though.

And how are those two projects going?
I'm further into my Wheaten Crele Orpington project then I am with my Giant Silkie project.

My F2 cockerel Wheaten Crele Orpington.

I gotta breed out the yellow skin, & squirrel tail, but I gotta see what my F2's tail looks like.

I know there's such a thing as a creole orpington, what would make a wheaten creole orpington different?

I'm using the Wheaten gene for my project instead of wildtype, or partridge genes.

It does seem that my birds carry either e+/E^Wh, or E^Wh/e^b, so they still have some wildtype, or partridge genetics within them.
