Incubating my first batch

I'm glad I didn't have to add home built to the equation lol, Its actually a Blue M dry type bacteriological incubator, with an old store bought styrofoam sitting on top of it lol. I lucked out and got it from a friend who used to raise reptiles.

Woohoo! Congratulations!!

this is the really fun part :) :) :)

in my experience, they will rest about 12 hrs after external pip before zip. once they start zipping, it can take 1-12hrs!
remember not to open the incubator now that you have a pip

2 hatched so far, had ot assist the second. the egg was fully zipped and he was pushing for all he was worth but the membrane was dried (which makes no sense as humidity is around 75% right now) so went in and clipped the stuck membrane and he kicked off hard. I had to unstick some of the shell off of him it was like glue, but yoke was all gone and he was chirping like crazy so wasnt too concerned. just broke it off in tiny pieces a little at a time and left just the tiny piece he is glued to, I figure as he fluffs out and dries up it will come off.
