Speaking of eggs, I got a completely soft shell egg today! I put it in the incubator just to see if it would get a few days in and I'd be able to see the veins and such. Was gonna throw it away anyway....

The calcium crew must've been off today.
Only had that happen with 1st eggs, and then only a few times, and they were about as big as a Robin egg

I have had eggs with NO shell -just innerds yuck!!

The one I got was partially transparent (and white, I have no white layers) . Could it have been a no shell?

16 chicks and counting! Here are the ones out of the incubator in the brooder.

Believe it or not I still get doubles on occasion, and my girls are in their 2nd laying season

How is the coop? I am two days behind, but I am too tired to care about going back right now. Did I miss anything big?

Yeah. I have one EE that lays slightly misshapen and brittle eggs, I suspect it was her. She gets the same feed as the rest.

Mine was nothing. No shell or membrane, i have also had soft-shells where it is just the membrane
