Hi all! I have probably close to 30+ showgirl/frizzle eggs in the bator. The oldest egg in there is from February 21st.
There are several eggs that where doing great, where still moving and carrying on on Friday. But no one has hatched yet. I looked in the two oldest eggs, and the first one, it looks like the hair sac has grown or been pulled back and it almost looks like blood in the clearer spaces? Is everything okay? How do I tell if the have died last minute? I have never had this problem.

ok, so you have a staggered hatch with eggs of different ages.
what's your tempature and humidity and are you sure what it says it correct?
please post some pictures if you're able to.

Yes, I only have about 3 laying hens at the moment, and 3 more who are not quite old enough, my temperature is at 99.0 it was at 99.5 when I checked a few hours ago, and my humidity is at 63%. I know the temp is accurate, we use a little gauge and check to make sure it is accurate when we candle, but I don't know how accurate the humidity is. Normally our hatches are fairly good but this time it just seems off! I will try tk get pictures if I can, but I can never seem to get a good picture of candling

Those look dead to me. Sorry. How do your others look? I would mark those eggs in the pics with a question mark or x or something. You can leave them in for a few more days just in case, but I doubt they will hatch. Hoping you get some chicks out of your other eggs!

I will definitely mark them, and probably candle again tonight to see how everyone else looks. I'm trying to figure out what could have changed that is causing problems, but can't think of anything specific... Any ideas on what could have caused it?

I would try and leave it in there another day or so. I had one that looked like that (duck egg but same idea) and then i opened it up and there was a moving duckling at the bottom of the egg. I felt so bad about it. If no one smells I would try to give them a few extra days. I know it can be harder to do.

Yeah, leave the eggs in a few days. I would candle the other eggs and see what you can see. If you can get any good pics of the others feel free to post them. Anything could have caused the deaths, its pretty much impossible to figure out. Messed up temps, humidity, poor genetics, bacteria, too porous of shells, weird defects, etc. I hope you get some babies, I'm sorry about the others.

Unfortunately candled the rest and they all look like they have wither stopped moving completely, have blood rings, or are just in general not doing well.. They where all fine 3 days ago. Added water to see if maybe the humidity was too low, but if these are actually gone that's over 20+ eggs lost. 🙁 Luckily all my duck eggs look healthy and are starting to hatch.
