Yeah provided they make it...... one of the reasons the friend confused them for chickens is they are the size of pullet eggs...... so small for turkey........ sigh we will see what happens lol

Never judge a turkey egg for its size. I've hatched quite a few from little eggs. Hopefully they're strong and healthy!

I need a little advice, my chicks are due to hatch today is day 21, one of them started pipping yesterday but it was on the wrong end, so I decided to help, which I don't like to do, anyhow I put it in an upright position in an egg carton and left it over night. This morning it still hadn't gotten out of the shell so I helped it but peeling off some of shell and membrane well it finally got out but it was still in the fetal position. Usually they are just laying sprawled out on their tummy. I looked it over before I left for work and it's still laying in fetal position. What do you think about that will it straighten out after it's completely dry? There was no blood when it came out and the yolk was absorbed.

Y'all are killing me with the poults! I miss my girl Gemma, the only turkey I ever hatched. Might just have to get more in the spring.
Do you know what breed? 50 is small, but maybe not bad depending on the breed?

Ones that pip the wrong end are skipping the period when they are usually breathing air cell air, so they usually take a little longer. Since it was all absorbed, I'd say that's a great sign, so hopefully it will perk up while you are gone. How quickly did you assist?

I wasn't home since Tuesday night so I really have no idea, but the membrane was turning brown so that worried me he was trying for a while. He's breathing good and crying some I hope it's ok I will have to wait until I get home though

He should unroll in a bit, just give him some extra time. He was stuck in an awkward position for a while.

They are standard bronze or chocolate?

Well, ended up having 8/10 hatch! That's the best hatch I've had in my Farm Innovators bator, best before now was 61%, so it looks like I'm finally figuring that bator out. The last one is the only blue Am cross that hatched, and "she" hatched a little later than everyone else, so I've been calling "her" Finale, lol. I'm hoping she's a girl because I'd love a blue olive egger! Oh, and I named one of the Bielefelder cross babies "Georgie Porgie", lol, cuz it is the fluffiest, fattest little chick I've ever seen! Here's a pic of everyone (except Finale, she wasn't dried off yet)

The little porker on top is Georgie :love She's already gone around the house with me doing chores. I love this baby! So calm and sweet. I ended up with 3 that I'm pretty sure are black (one might be a dark blue), 1 blue, 2 of the chipmunk-looking Bielefelder crosses, and 2 Speckled Sussex. Yay! Babies! Now to clean out the bator and get ready for the hatchalong!! And pure Am babies this time!

Too bad you are so far away, I am giving away 3 dozen eggs every 8 days.
well i do only have 9 chickens, so there is that :lau

Hi I'm Greg and currently we are running 2 farm innovators pro series digital incubators and a little giant. This is actually our first run but we seem to be doing pretty good. We have a big mixed flock consisting of 20 adult hens, 4 adult roosters, 2 adult guineas, 6 adult female ducks, and 6 adult drakes. We also have some chicks that were hatched by 2 of our flock and currently 3 ducklings and 5 chicks that we hatched. I kinda jumped into incubating with no clue of what to do but I've got a pretty good set-up now lol. Our next run should be much more fruitful and we will be starting it around new year. We are trying to hatch as many as possible before spring so that we can start selling.
Welcome Greg!! Let us know if you have any questions! Lots of experienced hatchers here!!
