Well, the price of gold is now at a flat spot. There was a similar flat spot yesterday afternoon. This indicated to me that someone with a massive supply is selling, probably a central bank. This is probably to prevent a massive collapse of a currency. Whose? Make a guess.

Since the government is a minority stockholder in General Motors it is unlikely. They have been selling shares for a while now to recoup the money loaned to GM.
