Injured bird

We got 10 week old chicks last Friday. They are all doing great except for one. She has been smaller than the others from the start but now she has an area where her wing attaches to her body that is matted down. I've seen her pecking at it. My husband said he saw one of the others take a quick peck at it too. Any advice?

separate her from the others until she heals. Chicks will peck another to death if they see blood, they are very attracted to red and anything that is different. If one sees another one go over for a peck, they will all try it to see what all the fuss is about. She may have had some funny feathers coming in and one went over to check it out and plucked one and now they have started a wound is my guess. Chickens are funny, they are not always nice to each other and if one shows weakness they will be out to get her
