I'll pick up an extra loaf of bread tomorrow to help fatten him up. (whole wheat of course for better digestion.)

Catfood is a realy cheap protein! My ducks think its treats too!

Use a net and a friend. To catch mine I often needed help catching him. It's easier with help and the ability to corner them. Because if nothing is done, he will starve. That's the thing. I don't think I can catch him. He's a big duck (male) and he gets close to me when I hold out the bread, but as soon as he sees me reach out for the hook, he sprints away quickly.
It's like he doesn't want me to touch it which tells me he's in pain. Possibly he'll get weaker from not eating and it'll be easier to catch him? What about diseases? Could I catch anything by touching him, especially around his tongue and beak?

If it were in my area id gladly help since I have experience catching them XD .
But either way, good luck, I hope he survives.
Thats excellent. They would definitely have been able to help.I hope you finished the thread to see the happy ending!
The back is open to the pond and a park on the left end of the pond. There's also a Fire House/EMS Rescue House on the park grounds. So i'm wondering if one of the firemen helped the little guy as they'd have the tools and manpower needed to catch and help him. Either way, i'm just glad someone did....I was feeling so guilty and helpless because I was only one and couldn't do anything.
