Mix a little scratch in with it get him eating then gradually remove the scratch till he recovered. They get spoiled eating scratch and don't want to feed thats better for them. Just like kids.We got him some duck starter but I'm having heck getting him to eat it.
I'm glad to read that your drake is on the mend, I think that seemed like a very serious injury, so for him to survive is indeed very Lucky. I personally would give him a spot of his own, just because ducks are so messy... But I know that people often raise ducks with chickens successfully. I am not one of those people tho, so if you're looking for advice on how to incorporate your drake into a flock of chickens, you might want to start another thread asking for advice from people who keep both chickens and ducks. One last thing, I would make totally, completely, 100% sure that drake is recovered all the way healed before you try any changes in his living arrangements. I have read that chickens will attack wounds on others, so if you put him with others too soon, you could be setting him up for trouble. And I don't know about the wheezing or hissing, I guess you'd have to make a YouTube video and post a link. Good Luck.
