this cockerel is so long .he is going to grow up as a huge rooster . big tall type .
late maturing . will take to a year to fully fill up .
his tail is a little long but great angle .

I have this cockerel type ,Saharacas .Norambezi and Tobambezi are all late maturing type .now they are 11 month old .I can see how huge they are 4.5Kg and 4.65Kg rooster and still growing . they will reach a 5 Kg when fully matured .

Yes.... I see. I can see the potential. I also see some nice Cream Legbars in the background. Most of mine had very upright tails and very bad combs. They just did not have the personality of the Marans. They were good egg layers!

So he might grow into that tail! I am very happy with the angle. I have tried scaring him or making noises to put him on alert and the angle stays the same. The good angle is an improvement.

here a photos of my BCM cockerel K2 from Djabel BCM ( from the import ) over a BLC hen .
he is the best out the 5 I m keeping and he is huge ,like his mama.

only fault he has is his hackle ,has a double tone ( Straw colored) and his shoulder need more colors is patchy ( the French call this le poivrage )
his comb is the best out all the BCM of this year .actually his comb is faultless . 10/10.

my BC hen Norway is a carrier of the Mahogany ,all her sons with Zambezi have a darker copper .
So I m going to breed this cockerel K2 to Norway to balance the thing up . expecting a faultless chooks from this pairing .can t wait . long time to wait

the cockerel name is K2 named after the 2 second highest mountain pick s in Pakistan.
his Sire name is Djabel ( arabic name for mountain ) so all his 5 son s have a mountain names .

here a photo of my first Golden crele marans . he is coming to 4 weeks of age .he is a F2 come out of the F1 cuckoos mating
well pleased .

he is proper crele because his under fluff is greyish .
the is 3 type of Golden cuckoos .
1) the original Golden cuckoo ER/ER s+/s+ greyish cuckoo body and grey under fluff with a golden just on the hackle ,saddle and Lancet.

2) Golden Golden cuckoo ; Ewh/Ewh .s+/s+ . only Monique Berte in France has them . she developed them from the Black tail buff

3) Crele golden cuckoo . e+/e+. s+/s+ . those one are Salmon based . Bev ,s Davis in the USA working on those one . she have some nice one too .

his comb has a nice texture and nice shape ,what does need just a little tidy up on the point level . few less will be nice .
his comb is medium size , the back of it is not touching the head ,and the front of it good .not passing over his beak .

I love the golden cuckoo! He is absolutely lovely!! Cant wait to see how he looks when he grows up!

I have 8 hens/pullets broody now .they have 13/15 marans eggs each .

one birchen hen hatched 10 chicks today ,but she crashed 4 of them . only 6 left .

haven t switch on the bator yet ,too many thing to do on the farm for the time been .a lot planting ,summer crop .Permaculture way .
