Woo Babies back on the farm! 5 FBCMs and 4 Salmtalers from GFF. a little concerned about this one though. Maybe just a jet-lagged chick?

He keeps dropping his head and doesn’t have the best balance but won’t stop chirping. Not sure what to do here :/
Other chicks are active and seem at a good temp.
He is just tired! Cute! Make sure he knows where the water is.

Hi every one .
I have some news .No good ,no bad just news .
I have a buyer for my farm .wasn t for sale ,but some one want to buy it as i it is ,chooks coop and run and every thing in there .NOT the chooks ,no way .

what do you guys think ,should I take it or no ?

chooks man
Just another indicator of the quality of what you do and who you are. Do what is right for Chooks man! Whatever that might be. Just as long as you have a computer and you don't lose touch with us! Always thinking about myself. Ha Ha

Ok I dipped his beak and he settled down for a nap with the others :)

Do you use electrolytes? The breeder I get mine from tells everyone they help after the travels. I haven't got a droopy one before though. I just do like they say anyway.

Thank you for trying to make me feel better. Right now I am just trying to get over this. Maybe one day I will get up the guts to tell you all what I did. I think what I did was worse but none died.

If none died it can't be worse. We have all done these kinds of things. Forgive yourself. You know that you have always tried to do your very best with your chickens. Don't beat yourself up.

Thank you all for trying to make me feel better. I am trying to forget so how do I decide to help me forget! I went and checked my Marans eggs and temperature. I still have 4 thermometers going all with different temperatures. One reading 98.7. The yellow mercury thermometer is reading 99.5 and the other two are reading 100 degrees. :hmm humidity is between 37% and 40%

I had two thermometers in mine. There was a great deal of difference in the readings so I called to complain about the extra thermometer. One was built into the incubator and I had placed a digital one on the floor of the incubator. The man at Incubator Warehouse said that only side by side would they read the same. The difference in placement would show a temp variation. He also refunded my money for the thermometer which I thought was very nice. Where are the thermometers and does that difference matter? I am asking because I don't know. I have only hatched eggs once.

I bought 3 of the brensia that are supposed to be so good. Placed right next to each other still read different. Same with the others I tried them all on the upper level and all read different. Then I moved one to egg level. I think I will keep trying to adjust temp till eggs start hatching close to when they should. Try and ignore the thermometers. Watching those thermometers can drive you nuts!

RedBanks,

Tony2 has excellent color (best trait of the Rooster) - the red shoulder should fill in as he matures - and nice eye color. He’s a breeder just for those two traits. His tail is full but the angle is gon8ng in the right direct. Breed him to large, well colored hens with a long, flat back and good tails to bring the tail angle down on his male progeny. You’re progressing in the right direction.

Keith

RedBanks,

Cockerel #1 (1st Pic, foreground) is well colored, nice eyes, well colored ear tufts, nice long back, good tail angle, tail seems a little long (hopefully he’ll grow into it), and good mass.

Cockerel #3 (1st Pic, Cockerel in far back on the right) - This Cockerel has an excellent tail (angle, length, fullness). He also has excellent type (rectangular, slightly tilted to the rear), good mass, nice long flat back (reason for his tail) and good eye color. How is his plumage color? Breed to a well colored hens with good tails, long flat back will reinforce the tail trait.

Take Care,
Keith
