Hello, I have a question regarding my 3 months old cockerel. His name is Godfather. His dad was part black copper maran and we don't know what his mom was. We got him when he was about a month old. He's our first roo. Okay, so my question is. When will he get his mature hackle feathers? I've been looking at black copper roos hackles vs cockerel hackles. I don't know when he will be fully grown.

Strain mean the line they come from. If he comes. From a colourful line or almost black line.

A few pics of my latest BCM chick.The egg in the pic is the one this chick hatched from. The sole survivor of my latest attempt to get a LP BCM cockerel. I do not like trying to hatch shipped eggs, but I want to try to stay with the LP line. It is a very lively, friendly, happy little guy/gal. Out of 8 eggs only two hatched. I lost one this morning. Magpie is my only survivor. None of the other eggs developed. I did notice it does not have much feathering on the legs at all. I know this is not good. However it didn't have any white on the face, so I was happy about this. I am really enjoying seeing everyone's Marans pics, keep em' coming.
