only problem I see and it is not a big deal, easy to breed out, is her fluffed plumage .
her tail look good to me .holding it at 60 Dg .that is acceptable .

she have a lot going for her .
gorgeous and faultless comb ( I ll breed her just for that )
correct wattles
lovely mass .
thicker body .
lovely hackle
nice short shanks ,well feathered and colored
well colored eyes
and the list of the good stuff still going .

you really have gorgeous BLCM pullets .
you done well
BRAVO

Thank you Chooks man! I am rather fond of her even though she isnt my favorite of the 4 blues. She "talks" a lot.. and puts the cockerels in their place. I don't plan on parting with any of my blue coppers. I will single mate her to Maximus as well since you think she is good for the breeding pen.

I am looking for an egg from her any day now. Her mother laid a rounder egg than the mother of the darker two blue coppers. She hatched from an egg between a 3 and a 4, so egg color is a work in progress with these.

Thank you chooks man. I was hoping I would get a male and female. I have terrible luck with shipped hatching eggs. I wish I had your ability to know whether male or female at this age. I was leaning towards male for the middle chick. Larger head, beak, and legs seem a little bigger. Body a little bigger. He's a tad taller. The chick on the left seems smaller, a smaller head, and more feminine. The chick on the right I just wasn't sure. I know the BCM chicks males and females have lighter and darker shank color. But I have alot to learn about wheatens. Thank you again for sharing your wisdom.

As Chooks man said, as Wheaten colored chicks start to feather you will easily be able to tell sex. If they feather like our Wheaten Games, females will start to feather a softer fawn color on their back and breasts, while the males start getting red shades and black on their shoulders, and black feathers on their chest. I love the color wheaten in our Games. Post pics as your wheatens grow! Im keeping my fingers crossed you have two pullets and a cockerel. :fl

And the free ranging Legbar picked a fight with a gamecock on tie cord and earned himself a bracelet of shame. He is pouting, can you tell? Lol

I know this isnt a Legbar thread but I figured I would share anyway. :D

I think all your hens and roosters are show quality

they are nice but not a show quality yet .
still have many faults to breed out and fix a good .
one day I ll be there .
the reason i m breeding the marans chooks is not to show them but to restore all the varieties we lost .
marans chooks are very rich in varieties
