International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Most of their eggs are fairly dark. I will try and get pictures later of them and eggs. It is hard to get accurate picture of egg shade my camera lightens them so much.

will be nice to see .

Only one white hen layed today. Here is her egg and a couple of the white hens. First 3 pictures of one hen. Last two pictures different hen.

I need to find out who is laying this egg. It is one of 3 hens in my cull pen. It is either the one Blue Silver Cuckoo, or that funny colored Blue Copper or a Black hen that I can't tell if she is Birchen or Copper.

she is lovely .love her body type ,her purewhite plumage and her dark eggs .

this one showed up in last hatch. There's a lot of dark on this bird, not tuxedo looking! Not completely black either. What do you think? Might this one turn out black?

nothing wrong with this chick hatch down colour ,it is correct ,minimum white possible .she is a pullet for sure.

I had 5 chicks like that. only 2 were black, 1 had nice copper hackles (she died), 1 has straw hackles and 1 has a trace of copper.

Well, I have narrowed my search down for the hen that layed the pretty dark spotted egg. It is one of two hens. The Blue silver Cuckoo or the all Black hen that is either Birchen or Copper. Personally I am hoping it is the black hen. That would mean she is Black Copper. I will separate them tonight. Then wait to see who lays the golden egg. Lol

will be nice if it is a black hen who is laying those gorgeous egg ,so you can pen her with a Blue copper rooster and hatch some nice BCM cockerel with a dark eggs genes .
