Introducing

First timer here
Has anyone gotten full grown hens and then introduced them to a younger bunch? I have 8-9 week old chicks but because two turned out to be roos I’m looking at possibly getting some full size laying hens to add to my flock. Not sure how to even go about it or if it’s a good idea.

The see-don't-touch part is critical for any integration.

You know I don't think I would recommend this. Those older birds could bring in disease to your chicks.

And what seems like enough space now, might not be enough space when everything is full size.

And you have a much healthier flock IMO if you have a multigenerational flock, so by leaving those openings until next year, you could add a couple of chicks next year.

And you will have more chicken experience before integration which is also a little tricky.
