Is anyone starting eggs in the incubator today? Tuesday, May 26

Had a couple hundred misc. chicken eggs in the incubator. Started them on June 25th and seem to be having a pretty good hatch. I always candle them before I put them into the hatcher and discard the clears.

What a great picture! I don't think I've ever seen a hatcher like that and you had a lot of eggs in there and the chicks just sitting there look so cute.

Awwww! Love the 1st chick photo. I hope to see my first before the day is up. If it doesnt work out I have more in the incubator already. I also love the picture of that hatcher full of chicks! I am so jealous!

I do hear chirping from another egg that funny enough doesn't have any pip & it's rocking so..... I think I've also got 4 that are pipped no or maybe it's 5 I'm not sure.. I think the waiting from pip to zip is always the hardest for me, because it's easy to get excited that there is a pip & then have a big disappointment...

Nice picture of the fuzzy birds. I wish I knew what all of mine are, but most of the eggs are from a local farmer who has dozens of different breeds all thrown in together. The ones from my barn are all Rhode Island Reds.

Here are some of the 950 day old pheasant chicks I got out in the brooder house. They are two weeks old today. (Picture is of their first day).

ok so I just posted this on another thread too but I need to share it here as well. I had 2 broody girls the 1st hen has 3 chicks & had left her last egg so I took it & slipped it under broody #2 & I knew it was to hatch ahead of the one she was sitting on but I thought this way the one she was sitting on would not be a single chick. Sure enough the one I slipped under her has hatched a good few days ago & she was still on the egg until yesterday when she really looked like she wanted to come out. When she came out of the lil rabbit hutch I've got her in she'd covered the egg with bedding so I thought she'd want to go back to it which she did at night but this morning she looked to have tossed it to the side. So when I let her out I swipped it & brought it in. I thought yesterday when she got off of it we'd had a pretty bad thunder/lightening & rain storm & I thought it might have got too cold & it died, but before just tossing I'd try candling it. As I'm going upstairs I could feel this egg vibrating with life inside...... I candle it & there was little room on the inside but I could see movement so I slipped it in the incubator with the others that are hatching. It seems a shame to waste it though I was a bit worried about the other in the bator with me slipping the egg in & I did have to open the bator to slip it in. The humidity is still 71% & so now I'm crossing my fingers it works & doesn't upset the hatching of the rest there. I've got cheeping from eggs looking to hatch w/1 looking like it's getting ready to zip..... I don't mind saying now I'm a bit freaked out.... LOL
