Is it ok to leave chicks with candles?

Agreed, age of chicks is important too.
Personally, I would not use candles, risk of fire.

Hot water bottles would work.

A huddle box may work. Carboard box with some ventilation at the top, a cut out for the chicks to go inside. Lined with straw, bedding or even some fleece fabric or a couple of old towels for them to snuggle in for warmth.

20C/68F isn't extremely cold, but could be little cool for young chicks so it's best to provide a place to snuggle into to get warm and feel protected.

Hmm. This is a pickle. Do you have a hot water bottle? You could heat water over candles and pour it in the water bottle. Then you could put it in with them and they could use it to keep warm. It might take a while though.
I can hear it on the stove, why use candles?

I think I'm gonna heat some water

stove is gas, you open it and light it with a match.
I think I would go the huddle box route with a hot water bottle if you can figue a safe way of holding the hot water. I am assuming you don't actually have a hot water bottle.

Are stoves in America work with electricity?
Stoves in America - most common is electricity, second is gas stoves, then there are wood-burning stoves. Often folks convert their fireplace to gas fireplace or wood-burning stove fireplace instead of an open hearth.

Do you have a feather duster? I know some folks use those to let the chicks huddle under it, like a momma chicken. It would be a good addition to a huddle box or hot water bottle, to keep the heat around the chicks.

4 day old chicks need about 90F temperature available.
