IS MY DUCK HISSING!?!?!?

Yes, I know I have been on here multiple times, but I have another question. So, I heard a hissing sound and my cat was in the bathroom with my ducks, so I immediately thought that my cat was hissing at my ducks. I went in there and started to investigate. I was so shocked when I heard a hissing/deep breathing sound from one of my ducks. So, to answer my question, is my duck hissing at my cat!? I know ducks hiss, but I've never heard mine do so.

She didn't have her mouth opened wide. Is it possible she can do it closed, but a little open.

Yes, that's the noise they make in defense whether they are defending themselves, eggs or young ones. Muscovy drakes hiss and you can't mistake their hiss
