Is there a way to turn off the stuff on the right hand side?

Just use AdBlock. Then, right click on the "right hand side" stuff and use manual block, slide the adjustment tool until right hand side is always blocked.

Yah.. doesn't work on Firefox. However, it does work on Chrome, so I'll stay with Chrome for now and see if I can get used to that. So nice to not have that annoying column!

This does not work for me. Sorry!!! I have been trying for 45 minutes to even get on the site and it took 20 minutes to post a reply in a thread.

All the new bells and whistles will make your computer run real slow because your the processor in your computer is running harder, the less "junk" that is running the faster things load.
I blocked a lot of stuff even though I have the power to run it. I also run Split Screen so that I can browse two forums, sites etc at ones with out leaving one.

Also after you block what you want out, get off the internet and do a clean up then a defrag.
That will clean out all the old "junk" that was put in during the upgrade.

Update:​

• 1 - I took out the Right Hand "Recent Reviewed" bar.
• 2 - Took out the "Recent Discussion, Reviews, and Articles" bar at the bottom of the page.
• 3 - Took out the BYC Chicken at the top Left Hand side of the page.
• 4 - Took out the Blue Header Bar at the top of the page.
• 5 - Took out the "Current Viewing" bar at the Right Hand side.
• 6 - Closed out Internet.
• 7 - Ran a Clean Up.
• 8 - Ran a Defrag.

The result is a much faster BYC.
