Is this a RIR hen or something else??

I was told that this was a rir but she isn’t dark and rusty like the pics I’ve seen on google or on here. We also had a cockerel rir and he was spot on with his colors. He was always rusty looking and darker than her. So if she isn’t a rir then what?

Agree with above. Not all chickens of the same breed have the same markings. I have two Asian Blacks. One is completely black while the other has brown flecks on her breast and wings.

Okay thank you! She’s a beautiful girl, a little on the feisty side. Still waiting on her to lay. She’s a March chick. She just looked lighter than all the rir that I’ve seen.

Yeah see she is very light compared to these. I think in the pictures she looks darker bc she was in the shade. She has the dark brown accent feathers on her tail and she has some dark brown pointed coloration on her neck like you see on black she links. Are those true to rir?

Yes! They have black on wings, tail, and neck!
