I give whole apples seeds, & all to my birds, & it hasn't harmed them in anyway.

Chickens are actually more tolerant to cyanide then most people think.

I've also given grapes with seeds. Once again, the birds are fine.

I see tuna being recommended here quite often as a snack for sick, & molting birds.

Soy is a common ingredient in chicken feed, so I don't know why that's on the list.

Fed my birds Rhubarb before, once again they're fine. Leaves are highly toxic, so those are to be avoided at all cost.

All parts of a potato needs to be cooked before given to the birds. This means the flesh, & peels.

Meat Scraps are okay.

Peanuts are perfectly okay for chickens, just give the unsalted type.

Lentils are fine too.

No ham, it's high in salt.

Acorns are edible, but are just bitter if not prepared properly. Chickens love bitter flavors.

Seems like I have read about a chicken eating the pit before. My mind might be running away with this but it seems like the bird died from an impaction (or maybe choking), but again, there's a chance I made that part up, unintentionally of course
A chicken that stupid deserves the Darwin award. 🙄 Sorry, not very sympathetic of me. My chickens' run is half full of lilies, which are toxic to chickens. They shelter from the sun under them, and scratch around the roots for bugs. No chicken has ever sickened or died from eating the lilies, they leave them alone. The lilies are magnificent from the chickens fertilizing and cultivating them. They dwell happily together.

Isn't it amazing how most of them just know what to eat and what not to eat? I think that's pretty incredible 💜
