ISABELLE LEGHORNS IN USA!

Yes the peach on the breast is a required color on pullets. I think the variation on the hackles is coming from the "golden" hackles. If they are lighter in color in the hackles will be basically white with lavender. The darker the red in the hackles the more that will show in the hackles. I personally like more of the cream or peach color to express... adds interest to the birds coloring.

Lavender changes black to that light gray color, it also changes gold/reds. So the lighter the red the more cream it will be.... the darker the red the more rust color you will see.

If you look at lavender in other breeds, the whole bird is (or should be) an even color/shade all around. Your pullets look more Isabel than lavender to me. I'm seeing types like both of those pullets in my flock. I haven't decided yet which are the better choice for breeders, but I think a peachy breast is key, no?

I like the color, comb and ear lobes better on the 2nd cockerel, but the first cockerel looks to have better feather quality.
Thanks CJ - that is a really good summary/evaluation. I appreciate your insight.
Double yes, I'm thinking that the pinker breast on the female is a definite advantage.

This color pattern is so delicate that photos can't quite capture the beauty - but your photographs come as close as a photo can -- and I love how you have shown the subtleties. You really are a talented person !!

Three of my pullets are laying -- and some of the eggs I'm getting are pink! How cool is that? I suspect that once the eggs are full sized they won't look pink anylonger....but for now -- it's a nice pastel to harmonize with the colors of the pullets.

Put the salt in the picture with the magnifying glass (which kind of messes up the eggshells in the light) -- to magnify the crystals of salt. It's the same color. I'm thinking it would be kind of cool to have a line that really consistently makes pink eggs.

Is he missing his feathers on his wing? I was told they will not ever grow in right.... I didn't believe it but my roo started to molt and now it is scabbed over and not looking like it will ever grow in. I think getting that color in the wings is going to be a HARD battle. LOVE his hackles!
