It does. I'm working on doing a four way cross. The four varieties are, a dent corn, a flint corn, popcorn and a glass gem corn. Part of the idea is corn with good food value and small enough in size so bantams can eat the whole kernel.
Another part of the idea is to put the whole ear into the coop so that they have more to do on snow days and not be so apt to feather peck each other. If they're working on filling their crop, maybe they'll spend less time pecking other because of boredom.
I didn't realize that when I got my seeds. Like I knew it would be cross pollinated if I kept seeds from what I grew, but I thought the first generation would be fine. Now I gotta figure out what to do cause I had a 3rd variety I wanted to do and I'm not even sure I can do the 2 I actually have in my hands
