Isa's Homestead Happenings and Hangout

Lunch is supposed to be Chicken Mozambique with penne pasta, garlic bread, and green beans for lunch. Alternatives are minestrone soup or salad. We’ll see how it is.

Yeah I know lol wasn’t saying to keep them, just that I’d be tempted to. I know you can’t. Although that said I do know somebody that has a 3 or 4 year old BBW but she gets a lot of exercise.
My boy was like 2-3 before he passed, but he really didn't have a great life either. We only had him because our buyer backed out after fair and he was too large for us to process. Lots of health issues

Ah that sucks! I don’t think this person has had any health issues with theirs but I don’t think she’s very big.

It can certainly be done to a degree. My main concern is about quality of life and all of the extra care and maintenance it would need vs a heritage variety.

I don’t think they do anything special with theirs and theirs has a great life but I do see your point and totally understandable. Certainly not recommended for the vast majority of them. They got lucky I think. Or maybe it’s the amount of exercise she gets.

Yeah. I loved my heritage turkeys. Want to get some again when I move. But they're practically different species compared to the meaties when it comes to care sometimes
