I checked on them last night during a break in rain after I rescued the trash can and almost died in 70 mph winds. Lol All the breeders were fine. It was just the dumbest cockerels that were already drowned in their tractor. The rest were on the roost. I know I sound like someone with excuses, but once I get the interior of the house in order I’ll deal with them.

I think tucking pants in should do it. I made the mistake of shorts in my yellow rain slicker but apparently wet boots are more abrasive than dry ones? Idk. It tore me up.

On another note, we are going to WV tomorrow to look at some land and the ticks are crazy out there. So, I'm going to spray permethrin on our clothes we will be wearing. Has anyone done this before?

I don't own tall socks period. I barely own any socks at all since I mostly live in sandals. My muck boots look like this:

in the desert, it's really all you need. We're not ankle-deep in puddles unless we get more than an inch of rain an hour. Super rare. Even then, these are fine. Hose 'em off if the get grody and good to go.
