Nothing wrong with Hank the Cowdog.

Oh I loved them. Just wasn't allowed to read them. I read The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy in the third grade. Also Jurassic Park. The Born Free trilogy about Elsa the lioness. Lots of stuff like that. It's why as an adult I enjoy reading "young adult" books sometimes because it's easier to relax and enjoy a few hundred paged than pick up Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series (which I am reading).
