That sounds funny being that this is ehh similar, but not similar, to the facething. I mean it is similar in that it is social media.I think it's tacky. I like to be in the here and now, not online all the time. And I can't stand the stupid posts, people whining about things
So strange to me, that that is how the young people communicate. Makes me feel old, which isin't necessarily a bad thingThat sounds funny being that this is ehh similar, but not similar, to the facething. I mean it is similar in that it is social media.
But, yeah, I would never do facebook. This is what I have done and do with it: I have created a fake profile and when I think of someone from the past that I wonder whatever happened to them I will go on and find them and see what they are masquerading as. I figure they are masquerading because sometimes I check someone out on there that I know in the present while I am on there, and most of them seem to be doing that. I have noticed that most of them all post about how Godly they are. And, it is sad, but the ones that seem to present themselves over the top that way are the ones that I know are into all kinds of bad stuff. Which, I know that we are all sinners and all that, but why do that? Last night you were doing meth and you and your husband were beating the hell out of each other, the cops were called, and your kids are hungry, dirty, sick, and you are about to lose them, and probably should, but today you are posting about how you are living this wonderful God fearing life and that you wish everyone else would do the same.
I notice also that social media is divided a good bit by age. Facebook is more the older folks thing. I mean not many youngins seem to do it. I mean some do, but I think the younger grown people do instagram and twitter, and the teenagers are more into snapchat. Then the even younger are into the tictoc thing. I may be wrong about that since I don't do any of them, but from hearing people talk that is what it seems. And, I don't mean across the board. I know that are exceptions.
Last year I was on vacation with my kids in another state. I was with my daughter and I turned around and she was standing with this teenage boy and he had my daughters phone in his hand. I started over to them and before I got there he handed back her phone and was gone. I asked her what he was doing with her phone. She says, "Dad, he wanted my snap" A little alarmed I said, "He wanted your WHAT" She rolls her eyes and said, "My Snapchat, Dad" Oh, oh, ok, ok. I guess that is okay
It is just an additional way they communicate. They still spend just as much time in person together. They get to know so many more people this way. Now, that kid that day was from a different state and their communication faded away pretty quickly. But, it definitely has widened the area to which they meet and get to know people. So, like all the schools in the surrounding 100-150 miles they all know each other at least to some extent. It is much more common for them to have boyfriends or girlfriends from schools other than their own. When I was in school it was usually limited to your own school/town with the occasional next town over. It is common place now.So strange to me, that that is how the young people communicate. Makes me feel old, which isin't necessarily a bad thing
80 and sunny sounds nice.
Even my limited understanding of the jargon saw the humor.
I know the audience for this is a little limited, but trust me, it's funny.
Sounds like heaven80 and sunny sounds nice.
Not in December. Does not bode well for summer, and I'd really not like to flirt with 130F as a dare.80 and sunny sounds nice.
