Damn Annabelle!!!! My first 3 day egg in forever! I felt like I hit the lottery until I went to get the egg and couldn't find it. then watched back and saw this!!!!
Omg nooooooooooooo!!! That's so awful. Also they all looked scared when the egg first appeared, haha. Well... before they started devouring it anyway 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes they did. Lol. Think they had no clue what it was or where it came from.

Nugget did the SAME thing today only she ran down the ramp at 800MPH. Lol. But plopped it out in almost the same spot!!! After being in the nest box for almost 1.5 hrs! They looked like they pecked hers but it was still whole when I found it hours later. Thankfully!!

Good news though. Hummer laid Tue, Thurs and today!!! No clue how often she will be laying right now. Lol

Oh and we are getting a HUGE snowstorm tonight to Sunday morning. Our area is saying 24-35" of snow! Sure hope my HWC covered part of the run holds up! I have a roof rake to keep pushing the snow off of it. will be interesting to see how much ends up in that part of the run and how the chickens are with it. fingers crossed it all works out fine!

Oh my goodness... you guys stay warm!!! I hope you got all of your errands/shopping done in advance so you don't have to go out in the weather.

I'm sure your girls will stay far away from it unless they want to nibble the snow some more hahahahaha

yes we are set so I don't have to go out in it. :) well besides out to collect eggs and take care of the girls (and boy). LOL oh I am sure they will go over and have to nibble on some of the snow. haahaa. I finally got plastic around most of the covered part of the run so at least no or not much snow should blow in there and hopefully it will keep it warmer for them. But we have had colder temps and they have been fine and running all over so I am sure they will be fine.

Just went out to make sure everyone’s in and found one of the EEs’ first eggs in the run!!!!

Poor Annabelle needs to lay and because of the snow everyone is staying in the coop. ( I had to put water and food in there for them which I hated to do).. this is what Annabelle is dealing with while trying to lay. Lol

What a mess today was. Snow was blowing in my coop!!! Finally got that stopped but the poop board under their roost was covered in snow. They had snow frozen on the top of their back feathers, praying they will be ok!!!! And a bunch of snow blew in the run. Here is a pic of their run tonight. And one of my yard, the coop is in the back of that picture but hard to see.

Straw on top of the snow in the run May coerce them to come out tomorrow, if you don’t feel like shoveling it out! ❤️
someone else said that. Not sure I can get enough straw. There is probably 6" in there! And I have to work from 10:00am-3:30pm so not sure I can get out to get straw tomorrow. :( I had hoped to only get a dusting in there not that much snow blowing in! :(
