Ya I thought it was Nuggets at first since she was in the box Nugget laid in. So took it out and it was a bit warm then moved the shavings and found Nuggets cold one! Nuggets was 47g today Hummers was 50g

Daaaang Annabelle... almost the same size egg as the other girls already! I'm looking forward to hearing how they progress!

I got 2. Just Hummer and Nugget today. will be interesting to see when Annabelle lays again.

One thing I noticed is Annabelle's eggs are basically the exact color of Nuggets so unless I see who lays it they are going to be hard to tell apart! Really hoping Ditzy's are a bit of a different shade (she is a Cochin like Annabelle) since I want to try to hatch some of her eggs come spring so will either need to pay close attention to what ones hers are or hopefully they will be a slightly different shade. yesterday Annabelle's was a hint lighter than Nuggets but today Nuggets matched Annabelle's from yesterday. they are different breeds too. Nuggets "should" have a hint of pink but they don't seem to.

Zoingo, Speedy, Goldie, Blackie, Brittany and Dottie all laid today! Unfortunately... Brittany went into the box immediately after Dottie laid. I SAW Dottie's egg in the box when she got out... but after Brittany laid... Dottie's egg was gone. I even pulled out all of the straw to search the entire box. No Dottie egg. I think maybe Brittany broke it and then ate it... I'll need to keep a lookout now

I've read on here of people using food coloring to mark eggs to identify for hatching... like a drop or 2 of food coloring right on the girl's vent that you want to ID eggs for. It apparently leaves that color streak on the eggs as they come out! I thought that was a neat trick, and doesn't hurt the chicken. Maybe it can work for you! I want to see baby chicks from your flock!!!

Also I bet Annabelle lays again tmw!!!

WOW on 6 eggs!!!!!!! I am going to feel like I hit the lottery if all 7 of mine lay on the same day. Heck I felt like it Mon when I got 3 in one day! LOL But think it may be forever till I get that since Ditzy, Fajita and Rosie aren't even close to laying and who knows on Marshmallow (think she will be next but could be forever even though her comb has been red for about 5 weeks now and her pelvic bones felt further apart than Annabelles a few weeks back. LOL)

Oh no on the case of the missing egg!!!!!!!!! I really hope Brittany isn't eating them! That is a HUGE fear of mine or them getting broken when another one goes in right after one that laid. When Annabelle went in after Nugget I was worried she would step on and break Nuggets egg. Thankfully it didn't happen and Nuggets egg just got buried.

I have heard about that. Guess when the time comes I will see. Ditzy isn't even close to laying yet her comb is still extremely pale so she has a bit to go. Ditzy and Itzy will have black, blue or splash cochins and I REALLY want a splash so that is why I am hatching a few in hopes of getting a splash pullet! I have NO clue what colors I could get from Itzy and Annabelle or Itzy and Fajita so wasn't going to hatch any of those since I will need to find homes for most that I hatch so can't hatch out too many. LOL

I was shocked when first thing this morning Annabelle went in the box and laid her 2nd egg!!!!!! it was 45g. funny thing is it looks smaller than her first but it is just fatter than the first and shorter. They say they lay 2-3 a week so not sure when to expect her to lay, but seems my others laid "extra" at the beginning (and even at times now but Hummer is starting to lay around her 4-5 a week).

I have wanted a splash Cochin since we decided to get chickens, but we have had to order then to be shipped and shipping is a ton of $$$ when I was looking. So when I ended up with a blue roo and had a blue pullet I was so excited!!! Lol.

So true on Annabelle. Not sure she will do 2 in a row but maybe every other day.

Wow I think you have an inside scoop on Annabelle. She laid again today. I figured it would be tomorrow for every other day. So 3 in 4 days for her. I got 10 in 4 days. Not bad for 3 laying.
