hmmmmm I will have to see what I have to give as a snack for them for extra protein. I have mice?/rats? (not sure which but by the ones I caught I am guessing bigger mice) in the run at night (they managed to tunnel under my wire. UGH!) so I have been trying not to throw down too much in the way of treats so there isn't anything down for the rodents to eat. I used to leave the food in the run since I "thought" it was safe so now take that in too.It certainly sounds like she could be soft molting... (Nice sized eggs she's been getting into!)
Also, I'm glad your grand daughter got to grab an Annabelle egg today. That's so sweet.
If she is molting... throw her some extra protein. It helps them get through it faster and for healthy beautiful feathers. I gave my girls canned tuna and mackerel as "treats" for protein once I realized what was happening... and I'm glad I did!
