Earlier you mentioned washing the hatching eggs.
Dont.
If they have poop on them gently use a small piece of sand paper to remove it.
Washing the eggs removes natures coating that keeps bacteria from entering the egg.
I too have had those eggs with no clear pointy end. Make a guess and give it a try.

Hi, I think you misunderstood or maybe I wrote it wrong. I did not wash any eggs, mine are very clean and the shipped ones came in clean also. With the shipped ones who knows what happened really. I also try not to handle them with bare hands usually have nitrile gloves or a napkin.

Brooder completed!! Ended up using panels from a chicken tractor I made last year. Hated the low walls for a chicken tractor, it makes it very difficult to see the birds when moving.
Size is 4x8 with two top hinged panels for access. Trying to think down the road just in case I have a couple different batches going on a divider can be easily add. Up on wheels so nice to roll around as needed. It will fit thru my basement doors so it can be moved for use in the barn or garage. Here's a couple pictures:

IncuView arrived today I made a foam box surrounded sides and bottom. Also made a wood box to protect the foam. Had to calibrate the temp by 1.2° IncuView was high. The humidity gauge is right on the money. I will be putting the eggs in about an hour from now.

Yeah I found it a bit odd.....but really no reason to cover it.

I don’t know where the vents are on that model, but be sure you aren’t blocking any with your foam and wood. Looks nice! Good luck!!
