It has begun!!! 1st Time

Pics
No, of the 3 eggs I removed and cracked open 2 of the eggs were just yolks with no development. The picture is of the 3rd one which had a blood ring and no movement that I could see also when broke open no movement also.
Oh..OK. Sorry, I mis-under-read your post.

I have never broken open a blood ring egg.
But I usually don't pull them if there's an embryo, I probably would have left that one in until day 14 or 18 and there was no more growth.
The embryos don't always move when you candle, many of them will not.
I mark air cells and sometimes make note on egg near cell tracing...M for moving, BR for blood ring, sometimes just a ? if something looks odd.

My first hatch I often didn't know what I was seeing most the time,
learned more as the incubation progressed....and even more with subsequent hatches.
Now I hardly candle at all, but can spot things quicker.

It was dead. I could tell from your day 7 pic. Sorry, I’ve been playing catch-up.
I assume the rest of the eggs are developing well?

Thanks for the confirmation, all videos I have seen brought me to the conclusion it was a quitter. I have 3 maybe 4 more that I have question marks on. No movement that I could see but also no blood lines.
@WVduckchick notice in the picture of the egg I broke open. That is the blood ring that can be seen while candeling correct?

Yes, the blood ring comes when a blood vessel collapses. Early on, they might look scattered before all the blood collects together in a line.

@WVduckchick has way more hatching experience than I!

Doubtful! I’m just more addicted to candling. :lau

It is day 13 and I just pulled a stinky egg(rotten smell). It was one I had a question mark on from the previous candeling so it was no surprise. Now I started giving all the eggs the smell test. No other smelly ones but still 3 with question marks. My question to you guys and gals is if an egg goes bad will it fail the stinky test? The reason I did not pull the other 3 is I saw no blood ring and they did not smell. So are those safe to leave in? Main concern is if they explode, am I correct that an egg will always smell before it explodes?

Why the 3 ?'s...no development, or....?
Development Yes but not like the others from what I can see. I swore there was no movement then at the last second I saw some movement. So :idunno. Thats why I figured no bad smell and could possibly be movement along with no blood ring. So I kept them in. It's only the Delaware eggs I am having a problem candeling:he. Go figure the Delaware are the ones I want the most.

Yeah, it can be hard to tell, especially without a lot of candling experience.

My dark brown, blue, and green shells are really hard to see into.
Especially the dark olive and dark brown ones, sometimes I can't even see the air cell!!

The candling pics you see online are often of white bantam eggs, the easiest to candle...was crazy disappointing not to be able to see that well with my own eggs.
