Magatha was flattered. " You would see fit to pass the time with an old lady?" She smiled. She was pleased at this young man's politeness. "There would be nothing better than a little company, and the hens are my sweet girls, they are," she cooed at her hens, as they flocked around her feet. Magatha handed her stool carefully to Rayko, her old fingers uncurling with some difficulty. She leaned upon her cane, then said," it may be easier if I were to fly: these old legs just don't move like they should anymore. I can still fly a little ways, if you are holding the stool for me." Transforming into a large magpie, her cane clattered to the ground, causing a few of the hens to cackle and bolt, but they quickly came back together, following Magatha as she glided slowly above them.
