Generally speaking ducklings and chicks can go outside without heat when fully feathered, however is there a magical temperature that is considered safe for a roughly 8 week old duckling? I had troubles last spring when my chicks were this age and outside in April and May and the temps were back down in the teens by day and close to 0*F overnight. This is not unusual for that time of year where I live and suspect it would be quite a shock for a duckling that was previously a house guest. These ducks would be new to me and would not have any older/larger adult ducks to snuggle up with at night.
