What is this?
It appearing on all of my hens!. On the same spot.
Should I be concerned?
They lay eggs, age 8-9months

Also, if you trimmed their beaks, that hurts. You can't do that without painkillers. And shouldn't do it in general. It may solve pecking problems but does not adress the root cause, lack or space.

I second the thought that they're probably rubbing their faces on the bars, it looks like the feathers have been worn away. If this is only just now happening it's likely it will keep getting worse and will probably get raw/bloody, hopefully that spot will callous up if you insist on keeping them that way.

I do trim my cross beaks beak but only the very tip and it doesn’t hurt her at all. It isn’t anything like these ones though

I have no idea what is going on with their faces, but I can tell you that with how you are keeping them, they will have many problems down the line. Depression, violence, illness, etc. You cannot keep them in that area.
Why would you say such a thing, my friend? If we had a better place, I’d choose that, but this is the best we have right now.

You’d be surprised..this is actually one of the best conditions compared to others.
