Iv'e discoverd I can control the weather.

Strange things are happening, today I opened Not 1 but 2 cans of paint and despite the clouds, not a drop so far.
Something must have pushed the paint rain to you.

Yeah, we got about a minute of light rain today. :| Enough to make little dots in the dirt, about 1/4" apart. The chickens didn't know what the heck was going on...they went in their house. We've had about 5 minutes of rain during their whole life! They're 12 weeks old.

barg, hope you're not losing your touch!

LOL! You guys are too funny! It rained here all last week. This past weekend hubby and I went to a wedding in MA, and it poured all the way down on Saturday. Sunday it poured all the way back. Talk to my mom on Monday.. and it had been sunny here in Maine Saturday Afternoon and most of Sunday.

I could'a shipped buckets out to you folks! We've had a wet May (the third year in a row here in my little Microclimate!)

Wed and today though beautiful and sunny. Tomorrow like that again. Guess the Powers That Be don't realize I'm still in town

Hallelujah! We got rain last night! Not sprinkles either! The top couple inches of the ground are damp, so I'm thinking it was enough to do something. It was still raining softly when we went to sleep last night. Our power went out, but who cares! We got rain! It's so nice out there now, breezy and kind of humid, and looks like it could rain again pretty soon. And it smells soooooo good!

I think plants like rain better than well water.

I'm sure the firefighters are glad. There are a bunch of 'em who I'm sure will be thrilled when they can finally go home.

Hey Everyone! Let us all give a cheer for Barry!

I drove to Port Saint Lucie yesterday to pick up my nephew so ds will have someone (besides me) to play with for the month. I got just south of Kissimmee and it started sprinkling. It hasn't stopped yet.
Apparently, we are in the path of this little Tropical Storm, Barry.

This is GREAT except . . . What do I do with my babies? I opened the ducks' door this morning and they are as happy as . . . well, as ducks in the rain. I'd had some trouble with one of the turkeys so they were isolated into a 2'x3' dog pen onto which I had laid the pan (from the bottom) over the top. Last night, the boys and I stretched a tarp over it to cover it totally. This morning, we adjusted the tarp to open one end, sort of pup tent style. I think that should suffice for them. Should I stake tarps over the chickens' coops or will thye be safe? I was going to try building a make-shift awning then open the door for the big ones, so they can come out, but now it looks like that won't happen. Should I just leave everyone cooped up until the rain clears (likely, tomorrow) or longer, or what?

I'm totally thrilled about this rain and everyone who came dripping into the store this morning, seemed to agree. Thanks to all of you car-washer, coop-painters who sent your powers this way!

I'm running in the rain here.

Yeah!!! It's still raining here too! The chickens are crazy. The other time it rained during their lifetime, it was at night and they were asleep. They aren't sure yet which is worse, the rain plunking on them, or the sound of it on the tin roof of their house! They keep going in and out like little kids. The dog is nuts too. He hasn't got to run in big puddles before, and he's been having a blast.

I echo TitiBebbs in thanking all you people with 'the power' for sharing with us!!!
