I've soooo had it with Kitty! I don't want to do this but...

I called the vet this morning to get the cost. I have to wait until I can discuss it with DH as to when we can afford it. We had a $400 propane bill to pay this week.

Ask about a payment plan to the vet, most will if over $100- and this with all the meds and everything is going to me much more then that...

(get a teeth cleaning while you are at it?)

Thanks for the tip, but DH is just going to pull it out of savings. Our vet is very reasonable. I think the most of I have ever spent there was around $125 and that's was for both dogs, plus their 6 month supply of heartworm meds. and comfortis.

I know it looks barbaric, but our cats did very well with it. They healed up within a week and you would never know they are declawed. We don't let them outside. The first day they were still too out of it with drugs to feel much of anything and they slept most of the time for the next couple of days. After that, we just were careful not to let them jump too much (Although that was hard with cats!)

Good luck and I hope this will help solve your problem!

*cusses under breath about the $600 for 6 months HW, 0 flea treatment, and anumals for three cats and one dog*

The vet quoted me a price of $96.50 for the laser removal and her three year rabies. I don't normally vaccinate the cats anymore since they are strictly indoor cats, but the rabies is required by law for any animal spending time at the vet's. I can pay it out of my check or I can let DH pull it out of savings. Think I'll let him pay it out of savings.

I've never had a cat declawed, so all I can go by is that out of the many, many people I know who adopted declawed cats, or had their cats declawed, not one reported any issues with the problems you hear about online (long term pain, behavioral changes, or newly devloped litter box issues). I do think they all had them done as kittens though. I am not sure what factor age plays.
