Jagged duck bill after injury

Recently two of my ducks got into an altercation and one of them sustained a bill injury that caused part of her bill to fall off a few weeks later. What remains of her bill is jagged and we are worried about it getting hooked on something causing further damge. Is there anything we can do to to prevent that?

The poor baby. You can take some nail clippers and clip off that pointy part, at least. Use a nail file to smooth it out. Have some cornstarch on hand in case you hit a blood vessel.

Probably won't be easy, I suggest at least two people to do this, and wrap her in a towel.

You need not worry about it functionally once it is smoothed over. This is one of my rescues. His bill was bitten by a raccoon when he was a little fluffy. He does ok with what is left
