Hey, so I think a hawk just attacked my birds. 1 duck is missing and I have at least 1 other with a small bill injury + I think a puncture wound or ripped feathers on her lower back. I had to carry her home, she was in shock, but she’s pretty alert now. I’ll do some research myself, but if you have any advice, please share. I’m going to look closer and find out more and I will post photos and more info and what not. Thanks so much.

My girl is wheezing and has bone exposed, I’m not confident she will make it :( I will leave for vet in 10 minutes

I’ve dropped my sweet Blanca girl off at the vet. The main injury is actually to her chest, not wing. Her lungs have not been punctured, thank God. They’re going to attempt surgery and get back to me later today with how it goes.

I’m going to take a breather and check up on the rest of the flock.

Peppermint is the other noticeably injured bird. 2 small injuries on her bill, and 2 red spots on her lower back. If they’re puncture wounds, they’re small. I may cut back some of her feathers to get a better look. Tried to rinse and apply ointment just in case. Otherwise, she’s walking, talking, preening, ate some mealworms, drank some water.
