July 2022 Hatch-A-Long

She hatched!

She's either a golden Deathlayer or a Blue laced red W-Dotte (red laced blue!?), and she's very vocal. VERY vocal. As you can see, she was on her back a second ago. Now she's back to normal. View attachment 3189866
She likes to snuggle with the eggs.

Whoohoo! Congrats on first baby!!!

We got a pip!!! Finally! It's not the little cheeper who's been trying all day, she's still trying, but I'm SO GLAD we finally got one! It's one of the bbs eggs. Yay!!!

Oh my goodness.

So, I hatched out four chicks (mutts) three weeks ago and bought four more (Ayam Cemanis). You can check out this thread for clarification. Based on combs, I have decided that my Lavender Orpington (sweetest thing alive) x Mutt Roo is most likely a roo. I changed his name from Zoya to Nickolai, and he got both parents best traits. My brand new chick is a Deathlayer, I'm pretty sure, and we stuck her in the brooder with the eight older chicks. Two Cemanis and two mutts didn't like her so much, so we stuck them outside. However, my first hatcher from the older batch is acting like a mother and Nickolai is basically a penguin. He and the chick are best buds, and she crawls all over and under him, and he is just SO sweet. I love him.

Nickolai is the gray one, my first hatcher is directly above him, the brand new one is with N, and the other two are Cemanis.

Cute babies!
Whoohoo! Gonna be a fun night for everyone!!!
Oh, not just a night. I'm here all week, folks. Big time staggered hatching. :D
Pavlovskaya will likely hatch tomorrow. I still have 16 eggs that haven't pipped, three of which are guineas who are a little farther back in development. Those three will probably hatch in about a week, week in a half.

I hope it all goes smoothly for you!
