July 2022 Hatch-A-Long

Pics
6 out of 10 have hatched so far. And it looks like I did get at least 2 EE x silkie crosses so far. Black feathered feet with extra toes are kind of a dead giveaway. Haha. (Also I may have been up until nearly 2 am watching one hatch.)
how exciting! This is going to be me next week/over the weekend. So far any I have hatched have been on day 20 which is Sunday. I have Mon off but will be at Chemo with my mom for part of the day. Mon is day 21 and I work Tue at 8am. Thinking I am going to be VERY tired next week. haahaa

Post pictures as soon as you can!

I will post pictures once everyone is fluffed up and moved to the brooder.

I have 12 Dominique eggs that I picked up locally from a breeder / shower here in Kansas. Got them going in the incubator at midnight on the 5th. Hatch date is the 26th. I candled on day 5, and 11 out of 12 were fertile, and growing!

Always such an exciting time. This is my first time with Dominique’s, and I can’t wait to have a flock of them! An endangered, truly American breed, with such a rich history.
Beautiful eggs. I love the little speckles. I didn’t realize their eggs looked like that.
