July 2022 Hatch-A-Long

Got 6 babies so far!!! Sorry, I've been totally exhausted and just glued to the incubator. Only got about 2 hrs sleep before I woke up and had to go check them again. Got 2 more really close to hatching (they're mid-zip now) but here's the kiddos so far!
The first baby, a wheaten:

I didn't get a pic of #6 yet, apparently. It's a dark blue. Got another wheaten out as I was typing, that's 5/6 that made it to lockdown. The other is pipped. 2/4 silvers are pipped and currently zipping, and there's 2 more blues (out of 4 left) that are pipped. Been an exciting day!
ETA: The last pic is the lil splash baby after she rolled onto her back and couldn't get up. She was too funny!

So exciting!!!!!!! I can't tell what colors mine are? Splash or really light blue for most. Then one blue and one dark blue or black??

We are both going to sleep forever!!! I got a bit under 5 hrs of sleep Sat night and about the same for last night.

Up to 8 babies now. 5/6 wheatens, 2/6 bbs, and 1 silver!!! She's beautiful. Her and the splash are my favorites. There's also a really light wheaten who is super cute, too. The other silver decided to take a break from zipping (she's kinda doing it in a weird way), but I'm confident she'll make it, then the last wheaten is starting to widen its pip hole, and the other 2 pipped bbs eggs are both still alive. Only 4 eggs haven't shown signs of pipping (1 is the cracked silver egg, but I can't tell if it's pipped or not with all the cracks), but we'll see how they look when I wake up from my nap. I have GOT to get some sleep. Could barely drag myself out to check on the big chickens a little while ago. Hopefully there'll be even more fluff butts in there when I wake up! Love having babies hatching!! Too bad I'm too exhausted to enjoy it...

10 out of 10 that started to develop hatched!!!!!!! 12 eggs from that seller 2 never started!!! Very happy for shipped eggs!!

Can't get much better than that!

But now I have 5 chicks running around in the incubator

Did that one chick hop out of one of the little divider boxes, or were some eggs not in one to begin with?

That’s wonderful! Excellent results for a batch of eggs most people would have discounted. Your faith earned you a nice start to this flock!

My legbar pipped! First mutt and last Wyandotte have widened their pips, but haven't started zipping yet. Pavlovskaya is *tiny* and my hatched mutt has a Faverolles for a daddy! I'm extremely happy.
