I am so excited

My broody duck got 5 babies!
I don't like broody ducks, they have a knack for getting their babies killed. Squashed, drowned and chilled to death. I made an enclosure on the forest floor that will give them good grip with their itsy bitsy footers, and no ground level water except their safe water trough, so hopefully these will be fine. Unas is an experienced mom so their chances are good.
In two weeks I have a total of 4 ducks hatching within 3 days. That will be fun

I love ducklings - really they are just the cutest things ever!!! :love

I don’t even know half the coloring 😂 I wait until they’re feathered out. The pansy fee is a male and the Falb fee is as well. The rest to my knowledge are females.

I’m making cages soon before august 14th because they need to be done by then. These new ones will be going in the new cages. My old ones will stay right in the aviary.
Lol, I scoured the boards here to see if I could get any idea on what the silver looking ones would end up looking like, and none of them are what I thought they’d be. 😅

that’s not terrible then, depending on how many ladies you’ve got. :)

I’m shocked by how fast they grow. I mean, I knew they grew quickly but it feels like they change from when I leave in the morning to when I get home.

But you’ve got a bit of time to get your cages done, that’s like a month, you’ll be fine. Lol. Are they going to be raised cages?

Yes they’re going to be raised cages. I am still trying to figure out what I want to do.
