I want to set them tonight so bad. I might go ahead and then start the turner later.
I set them right away, unless they need to warm up to room temp. If there are problem air cells I might have them in an egg carton for a few days, but then I lay them down and turn on the egg roller. If some don't make it, then they don't, but I've had very good hatches for most of my shipped eggs.
My silkies didn't do so well, but I kind of think that may have been the breeder. They arrived in one day from across the state. They were well-packed but several were weeping.

I set eleven of the fourteen. One I broke when I took the turner out. The turner rod pierced it when I put the lid back on.

By the time I noticed, it was too late.

One had a deformed foot (seemed to be attached backward) and I had to cull it.

The four I got are pretty cool, though!
Anyway, my point is, I don't sweat it. I do the best I know how and if they hatch, they hatch. If they need help that's not too invasive, I'll provide it, but tbh, that usually doesn't work out so well. Sometimes it's good, but for the most part it would have been better not to have interfered.
