Jumping chick

I have a chick that jumps so high, she escapes a lot. She is the size of a normal hand. She can jump 2 feet or higher. How will I catch her if she is out of her brooder? She runs very fast.

Canned corn is good for catching an escapee. I have used the rack from my oven as a temporary brooder top until you have time to make one out of hardware cloth.

I covered mine with a window screen when they started jumping.

Brooders need to be covered! I use a hardware cloth cover, starting on day #1, which also protects the chicks from any 'bad guys' who might turn up in my garage.

She's behaving completely normally and as she gets bigger she'll jump even higher. If your brooder isn't covered it needs to be.
