JUNE - JULY HATCH-ALONG!!!!!!!

Are the hens all purebred? Have a picture of th EE roo? I’m just curious - I spent a little time trying to figure out the genetics of the color and combs of our barnyard mixes with an ER roo too!
Yes, they are all purebred. I can get a picture soon, but here are some from Google that look similar.

Any help figuring this out is great. A second just hatched that looked similar.

I started saving eggs from my mixed flock today because I just rehomed my young Frizzle/Buff Orpington rooster. He was very young, only 4.5 to 5 months old so it will be interesting to see how many if any, actually make it to hatching but while cracking eggs open tonight I saw at least one egg from my bantam cochin that was definitely fertilized. Fingers crossed! I would love to have one frizzle pullet from him just because I loved that crazy looking rooster so much! He was so sweet!
Has anyone else set eggs and successfully hatched eggs with such a young rooster? All of the hens that are laying are between 1-5 years old so he's the only factor that could go wrong.

@Mixed flock enthusiast The above post has the pictures of him. I can't figure out how people share bookmarks that link directly to a post yet...I need to figure that out.

He was Buff. I posted some pictures of him over in the August hatch-a-long. He was so darn sweet! He was pretty young though. Under 5 months old. So it's really an experiment to see if a rooster that young can even cover his bases. Lol
Well... I have been going into hatch a long withdrawal, but it seemed kind of pitiful to join the August hatch a long with nothing to hatch... I do now have a maybe something! Remember how I left 9 old eggs in the guinea nest? And two hens have stayed broody on them? Just before a left town, I herded the guineas off the nest and candled. There were four new eggs, two clear and two developing, about 1 week in. So I brought them in the house meaning to put in the fridge... talked to DD and we decided to put the two developing ones back under. If they stay broody long enough, maybe they could handle two keets with only two moms... Or one mom if one gives up!

That definitely sounds like reason enough to join us in the August hatch-a-long!

Oh he is so adorable! Buff or red?

Buff, he was a chick from a Buff Orpington hen under a Frizzle Silkie roo. Probably the sweetest rooster I've had yet. He would step into my hands when I reached down for him. Fingers crossed he was old enough to be breeding with the hens! We'll see!

Oh and for sure NO Newcastles. My friend were afraid I was opening a can of worms by sending her in, but I had no issues with my other birds, so I did it anyway because I HAVE to know what killed her.
