JUNE - JULY HATCH-ALONG!!!!!!!

Pics
@CluckNDoodle , Thank you for the information on calculating percentages. I'll have to start using it, tonight is the final on both incubators, I was going to do it this morning and noticed that one of the eggs that I'd had lined up like little soldiers had rolled sideways, so it's looking 3 out of 6 for the small incubator. Double Thank you for that link you provided for the other person, lol, how'd you know I had that question. They started hatching sometime between 11 last night and 6 this morning. They have pretty much busted all the way out, still alive as I've just touched the egg and they are chirping.. so it looks like final count is 10 live, 3 broke, 8 infertile and not sure about the other 9. if my numbers are correct.

It looks all sunken-in.
I'm pretty certain that it didn't make it. I feel terrible about it eventhough I did what I could. I still have 10 more eggs. If even one survives I will feel blessed.

Final update!

Not all the quail I have but it’s the best picture I got lol. The brooder is small and dark so that they don’t feel stressed. They cry constantly but are much more used to humans than the bobwhites were. They don’t even run away from my hand. I’m not sure of the final hatch rate but I’m told we have at least ten. 10/24 isn’t something a normal person would find exciting but considering my last quail hatch rate was 8/24 and they all died within the first three days, 10 healthy babies is exciting.

Mama bird hatched a few ducklings of her own outside! I’ll have to check her unhatched ones to find a hatch rate but I’m not too hopeful. Her hatch rate while sitting on her own eggs is getting worse and worse. I don’t mind though: I’m struggling with selling 20 ducklings from one of my twins lol
And for the stars of the show:

The ducklings that I pulled my hair out waiting to hatch! They’re both strong healthy babies, however I will keep them inside until I can find an opportune time to sneak them with the rest of their siblings.
Fun fact: the one with the brown head actually hatched backwards? Like she got her butt and one leg out first and struggled to get her head out. I’m glad she managed to do it, cause I was freaking out.

Well if they're still chirping that's a good sign! I hope the other chicks start hatching soon! :fl

This link is even more in depth on assisted hatches but is more aimed at chicks so I shared the other one. It does have a lot of graphic images in the beginning to warn people about stepping in to soon but has really in depth explanations.

I'm sorry your hatch started off difficult! It's something we all have to deal with at some point when hatching unfortunately. We just do what we can and the rest is out of our hands. I hope the rest of your hatch goes smoothly! :hugs
