Just curious... I've had them as good layers for 3 years, never known the breed...

They look just like my Black Sex Link hen. My neighbor's Black Australorps don't have any brown specks on their chests.

I going w/ Sex Links... That is a familiar name from the order they came in..
My son's 4th grade class went in on a mixed breeds, 50 chicks mail order & we brought home 6 pullets & a roo 3 months later who were the last to leave the school.
That was 3 years ago & I remember it was there I heard the name of the breed, Sexlink for the first time. (Not one you forget quickly.)
But, since that original adoption, I never inquired any of the breeds I received... I only know Sex links were there.
The staff that decided it would be a fun project to bring into the school, didn't really know anything about poultry, especially the differences in sexes & breeds! We all laughed as we watched the "shes" start to crow & the "he's" start to lay... I ended up w/ 1 BR, 1 RIR, 2 sexlinks (i'm starting to guess), 1 BO, 1 leghorn (the roo) & 1 gorgeous white Corchin.
And thats how I became obsessed w/ chickens!
