Just had to post this.....

Thanks! I did speak with the vet today and she did confirm Mareks for Lyle. Baby she did not see it yet but only started to show symptoms a few days before so it could still come back as Mareks. I was devastated but the vet really did not think it to be a big thing as far as my remaining flock. She said others could come down with Mareks if their immune system is compromised or they get stressed in some other way. She said I might find certain breeds more susceptible to get it. She said if I notice that, don't have that breed but she thought the rest of my flock should do well and if the virus is more of a lower level in the flock, the new chicks should be resistant to MAreks. I had asked her about showing and she said as long as it is a good healthy chicken, it should be fine.??? I thought Mareks was a death sentence for your flock but she didn't seem to think so. She said Mareks is really everywhere and flocks have been already exposed and you just don't know it until one's immune system becomes depressed and then the disease comes out. So, any ideas on what would be good supplements to support a healthy immune system in chickens?
